NOTES:

In 1964 Eppy Charms Inc. released Big League Baseball Rings just in time for the opening of the Major League Season. The gold-plated rings were designed for capsule vending. The complete series featured the 20 clubs in the National and American Leagues. The gold plated rings (silver, copper and bronze) were made using a vacuum plating process, called "vacuum metalizing" introduced by Samuel Eppy. The method was also used on plastic charms. A large number of novelty and charm manufactures produces MLB team rings over the years, including the Penny King Co., Karl Guugenhiem Inc., and Henal Novelties & Premiums Corp. Some rings were imported from Hong Kong.

Accurate dating these rings is very difficult. Almost all the Billboard Magazine advertisements taken out by vending companies list the rings without illustrations. Dating by using other rings, advertised during the same era might help place them in a certain time frame. Vending display cards that were placed in machine will help as well, especially mix cards that actually showed the items physically in the machines.

For example; rings with the ornate design on the side (as pictured above) can be loosely dated to the 1950's-1960s, based on other popular rings made during the same era. Metal adjustable "white gold, silver or gold" vacuum plated, rings, can be dated to the 1960's-1970s or later based on vending machine display cards.
